🙋 My Story: I Had No Idea Until I Saw the News
I own an Insignia 3.4 Qt Analog Air Fryer (Model NS-AF32MBK9-C) — the black one with the two dials on top. I bought it around late December 2020, and I’d been using it for years with zero problems.
Here’s the thing: my model was part of the 2022 Canadian recall, but I heard nothing about it for years. Then I happened to see a news article about the recall by chance. That’s how I found out.
I registered on the official recall site, and about a week later, I received a $75 Best Buy gift card. I actually had my receipt, but the sale price on it was about a dollar less than $75 — so I just skipped the receipt and took the flat $75. The process was surprisingly simple.

🛑 Do NOT Just Bring It to the Store
This is not a regular return. Health Canada explicitly says do not return recalled air fryers to a Best Buy retail store. Register through the official recall process instead.
⚠️ Stop Using It — Even If It Works Fine
Mine worked perfectly for years. That doesn’t matter. A recall isn’t about whether your unit has malfunctioned — it’s about a confirmed safety defect in the model line. If your model is on the list, unplug it and file the claim.
🚫 Can You Sell a Recalled Air Fryer?
No. Under Canada’s Canada Consumer Product Safety Act, it’s illegal to resell, redistribute, or even give away a recalled product in Canada. Same principle applies in the US under CPSC rules. Don’t list it on Marketplace. Don’t give it to a friend. File the claim.
