LE LABO Rose 31 Shower Gel — My Honest Review (Bought With My Own Money)
Bonjour! I’m J., documenting a beautiful life.
This is a real review of a product I bought with my own money.
As I get older, the first place I feel it is my skin right after a shower. Everyone else in my family has oily skin, so we keep an oily-skin shower gel at home — but once summer ends, my skin gets tight and flaky, so this one I keep just for myself.
It’s the LE LABO Rose 31 Shower Gel — the same one Fairmont hotels provide as an amenity.
237 ml: CA$79 (Le Labo Canada official)
So gentle
Almost no scent and very little irritation — gentle enough that I’d be comfortable with young kids using it. (Just my personal take.)
The label lists vitamin E and aloe.
A clear gel texture.
The honest downside: the scent
I loved the Peter Thomas Roth amenity scent that Hilton hotels used to have. My family used their products for a long time.

Peter Thomas Roth — the former Hilton hotel amenity
Compared to that, Rose 31’s scent barely registers. If scent is what makes your shower happy, this may disappoint.
Aesop vs Le Labo
At a glance, the bottle looks like Aesop.
Scent: Aesop wins. Clean finish with no slippery residue after rinsing: Le Labo wins.
If you hate that heavy, slippery after-feel, I strongly recommend this one.
Verdict
I love the moisturizing feel and the gentleness. Aside from the scent, this is the shower gel I reach for most as someone with dry skin.
Next up: a comparison with L’Occitane.
I paid for this with my own money, so this review is honest.
Wishing you a beautiful day! — J.
